ANTIQUE SPRUCE

the spruce from which this type of wood comes is a shallow-rooted, evergreen species that can reach heights of 50 metres. It lives in mountain forests with damp soil, growing relatively fast and producing a soft wood. It has long been used for timber construction, flooring and roof structures. The term “Antique Spruce” is given to new spruce wood that has been steamed to make it appear much older. Its advantage compared to genuine old wood is that larger quantities of the same quality can be produced and processed.
